Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, who sees it, and what you can do about it. Last updated October 20, 2026.
What we collect
If you are a backer: your name, email address, shipping address, the items and options you order, and your order history. Your card details go straight to Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
If you are a creator: your name, email, handle, bio and photo, your item listings and uploads, your subscription status, and tracking numbers you submit. Stripe collects your identity and bank details to pay you. We receive only the status of your account and payouts, not your bank numbers.
If you create a backer account: your sign-in details are handled by Clerk. We show you the orders placed with an email address you have verified, so you can see them in one place.
If you comment: the comment, your first name and last initial (or username) from your sign-in account, and a one-way scrambled version of your IP address that we use only to spot abuse. Comments are public. We also keep comments we blocked or hid, for moderation.
From everyone: basic technical data such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, and error logs, and the emails you send us.
How we use it
- To process payments, hold and release funds, and issue refunds.
- To send receipts, shipping updates, refund notices and other messages about your orders.
- To let creators fulfill orders (see below).
- To prevent fraud and abuse, keep Prefire secure, and review shipping proof.
- To answer support requests, meet legal and tax obligations, and improve the service.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.
Who sees it
- The creator you buy from gets your name, email, shipping address and the options you chose, so they can make and ship your order. Creators may only use it to fulfill and support that order.
- Service providers that help us run Prefire: Stripe (payments and creator payouts), Clerk (sign-in), Resend (email), our hosting and database providers, and Cloudflare (photo storage) [Lawyer: confirm the final list]. They may use your data only to provide their services to us.
- Authorities and others where the law requires it, to enforce our terms, or to protect people from fraud or harm. If Prefire is sold or merged, your data may transfer to the new owner.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed for sign-in and security. We don't use advertising cookies. If we add analytics later, we will update this page.
How long we keep it
We keep order and payment records as long as needed to run the service and to meet tax, accounting and legal requirements. Account data is kept while your account is active. Then we delete or anonymize it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, and, depending on where you live (for example California), to know what we collect or to opt out of sales or sharing. We don't sell personal information. We can't delete information we must keep for legal or tax reasons, or that a creator needs to complete an order already paid for. Email support@prefirehq.com and we will respond within the time the law requires. We won't treat you differently for asking.
Security and children
We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure. Prefire is for people 18 and older, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
Where data is processed
Prefire is operated from the United States and your information is processed here and wherever our providers operate. [Lawyer: add transfer language if the service opens outside the US.]
Changes and contact
We will post changes here with a new date. Questions about privacy go to support@prefirehq.com. See also our Terms of Service.
